Title of Artist Call: "Mother and Child" Exhibit Organization: Artist Angle Gallery
Call for Art: ArtistAngle Gallery will host a juried exhibit in celebration of Mother's Day during the month of May entitled ' Mother and Child.' The gallery is located on the east end of downtown Frederick in a beautifully renovated old granary space beneath the Gravel and Grind Coffee Shop. Submissions are open until April 30th. Selected works will be exhibited from Saturday May 13th - June10th.
This competition is open to all artists 18 years or older within 50 miles of Frederick. Submissions include painting, photography, sculpture, textiles and mixed media that either represent mother or child and/or reflect relationship between mother and child. Champagne Cocktail reception for the event will be Saturday, May 13th from 3pm-7pm.
Awards will include Best of Show and People's Choice
Who Can Apply: Open to All Artists over 18 within 50 miles of Frederick County Discipline: Visual Arts Submission Deadline: April 30th Cost $5.00 per image/ up to 5 submissions
Juror- Arthur B. Hayes Arthur Hayes has been active in the Washington area for over forty five years working as a painter and sculptor. One commissioned sculpture has been on display at the Hirshhorn Museum as part of the Smithsonian Associates presentation series. Two solar kinetic sculptures for Montgomery County Public Schools have been used for educational programs. Mr. Hayes been reviewed in a positive light by the Washington Post. Current award winning paintings are on display at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts. HIs active support of the arts extends to the photographers and graphic designers.
